I’m hearing of many pharmacists that have either had base hours reduced or were terminated. Anybody have any info on that?

Definitely age discrimination. Laid off RPh with 20 years with company....
I was told by a colleague who was rising in the ranks of walmart corporate that he had to fire numerous pharmacists. Not due to metrics or anything. Just per “business needs.” He was perplexed about it. I was shocked that he was perplexed. I asked if those fired happed to be over the age of 45 and he thought for a minute and agreed that they were all over 45.
That was months ago. At that time there were many posted job openings yet people were getting fired. New grads were being put into the PRN pool. I had recently left the PRN pool because I wasn’t getting enough hours and seemingly unable to secure even a part-time position anywhere in the state. And I’m over 45
Today, most of those PRN grads now have salaried jobs.
It’s obvious. Fire the expensive experience and sub in the cheaper new stuff, who will do anything for nothing.
