Am I the only one who believes we'll have no more huge layoffs? At least not nearly as big as we would have had if we didn't dodge the NXP bullet?
Where exactly are these 4-5k numbers even coming from? Yes, the shares buyback could lead to layoffs, but that's not a guarantee. I wish people would stop presenting it as such.
You guys are FOS . 1200 and 1500? How many support staff that used to be counted as full time are now classified as consultants??!!! Of those how many have disappeared quietly because they were not Qualcomm Employees? We are way past 2000 employees laid off for the year no matter how you spin it. And more to come.
Remember all the horror stories you were told about what BRCM would do if the got Q? ...... well that's exactly what is happening over the next couple of years, but directed from within. Costs are slashed, no big payoffs for departing employees and the company is leaner and meaner and has the majority of it's operations in lower cost locations .... sorry SD, you are just too expensive. Makes perfect business sense.

There is still so much fat it is ridiculous. Just look through PH and there are entire groups that provide no value, some are all director and above. Most are non-engineering functions that are over titled and do little besides complain that the summer on the lawn concert series is done and no more cupcake parties.
1200 more this year then few hundred next year
