This is the metaphor.
It is over. Qualcomm is soon to be the cooked goose and eated by the wolfs.

You mean the Wall Street Wolfs?
We’re like that little raccoon that climbed it’s happy a-- all the way to the top. It didn’t fall and neither will the Q.
Qualcomm needs a good goosing to get back on track. Time to raise the Rainbow flag again.
Qualcomm = QUALity + Cut + Overly + Micro + Managed
Goose was Maverick REO
Will the goose be cooked in time for Thanksgiving dinner?
It took the titanic 2h40m to sink after hitting the iceberg. Qualcomm hit the HockTan iceberg in 2017 and will sink by Sep'19 when management completely fails to deliver on promises forcing private equity to come in and buy it for $50/share.
You’re in denial. It’s done. There is no substantial 5G opportunity. 5G is nothing more than poorly defined standards without monetizable h/w and s/w solutions.
A breakthrough is needed in materials before an “engineering “ solution will be viable. This is basic physics. Just like airliners have transitioned to composites from metals a new material is needed for conduction and transmission to support 5G theory.
$23B yes but op margins sub 10% and declining, cost structure still way out of whack for forward guide. In absence of new business, new revenue streams and profitable investment there is no path to street expectations. The current crack executive team can talk about 5G, IoT etc., but given Samsung sourcing own chipset for galaxy devices, Apple developing their own modem, an ineffective licensing group and more importantly the company’s inability to monetize new technology (see Hoc argument) I agree with OP. The goose is cooked. I expect changes soon, but too little too late.
Not necessarily. Qcom can do great if they put good time to think through. Emphasis is on activities. STOP. and think haard if any direction need to do , any activity needs to be done. Time spent on thinking can get qcom a lot. It can be winner again.
Cooked goose with 23 billion in revenue per year
