So upsetting that our shrink is horrible. It seems as if this company no longer cares. So..how do we get partners to care at club level? What makes it worse is that with all these job eliminations why wouldn't people be upset and not care. As I, and all partners including management say, why did we get rid of our audit team? Team leads completing audits and accurately counting is impossible. Can we blame them for this? They have enough responsibilities just with having to constantly open back door for pick ups, trash compactor, and not to mention look for merchandise that is not in location which is most of it. Just curious how club inventories are coming along this year. Can anyone share info on this?

This company is out of control. They care about none of us. I watch our club hire all young people. Yes they do age discriminate! There are no rules anymore. The associates must dress up while our managers run around the club in Jean's looking like associates. There has to be teenagers running our HO in Bentonville. This mess is hilarious to watch
Yep. Good riddens. Let all those useless millennials with no clue or work ethic run this company into the ground. I'll be in a better place laughing my a$$ off.
I guess you are a 20 plus associate!
GOODBYE.
Get rid of all 20+ year associates and clubs definitely win. I truly believe this is the goal.
If they would let the leafs do what needs to be done would not be a issue. The point is managers need to get the local door, trash compactor, and the management calis. Managers feel as if they need leads in club to pick up three slack and laziness. It’s so frustrating that home office chooses to ignore issues. Leads get paid bare minimum but act like management, managers on the other hand act like hourlys and get paid premium pay WHY?????
Shrink .29, $150.000. Total up last years shrink plus salaries from Audit team, club way ahead.
Please stop complaining about training, because this company feels training is piling a bunch of unnecessary GLMS onto the associates learning plan. Instead of on hands training. The number of GLMS the new associates have to take is ridiculous. Now the company rolls them out every month, which is very hardfor the new associate to break away to complete them. GLMSs are like pulling teeth to make sure the associates complete them in a timely manner. Whoever thought of this process needs to work in a club to see how it really works.
Speaking of proper training, once upon a time new cashiers couldn't get on a register until properly trained and they fully understood procedures. In today's world they get put on a register almost immediately. They are just considered as bodies needed to open up registers. They have no clue about shrink and how members conceal merchandise and yes especially business members. We over whelm them and then they quit. This is why turnover is so bad and why we are where we are as a company. It hurts me to see this happening to us. Sam Walton truly cared about his employees. Sadly this is not the same company anymore.
When I am on the clock I care about doing my job right...I find it horribly frustrating that management does not seem to care whether new associates even come close to doing the job right..but I do not do mine poorly just because of them..Those of us who work hard are only worked harder and even greater accuracy is expected of us to make up for the non trained non guided slackers.............
Agreed lower volume clubs that’s a good number. If you have a high turn over rate which our club does means higher shrink. Long term cares more than someone with company for 3 months or less in our club.
To dpi, $47,000 with a .27% in shrink means your total sales for year were about 60 million. That must be a very low volume club. Higher sales is usually higher shrink. However you are right, it is possible.
With proper training and team work from everyone it can happen. I would gladly take a .27% in todays standards.
I totally agree why care they don’t! I’m a 26 year and they management could give a hoot so why should I.
We just had our, it was very good. .27 our loss was $47,000 . With no audit team this year our associates pulled together and worked very hard to make this happen. I have talked to other clubs and it seems to be a bad year for them. I will say it is not easy, but not impossible. Good luck!
No one cares because they see the future. Alot of people that have lost there jobs are the ones that actually cared. Im a 20 plus year employee and I could care less anymore and the company is the blame for that. Why should I care about a company that dont give a damn about me. I refuse to shop at Sams or WalMart.
