Everyone will be replaced. We're set-up just like Keebler. Stop believing what upper management is telling you. DSD is ending soon. Get out before your kicked to the curb. Start looking. Find what you want and don't settle.

confections is normally handled by the stores general merchandise warehouse not the grocery. It's a little different per chain, I have one chain (about 100-150 cases a week store for us) where the gum candy and nuts is handled by a 3rd party vendor who packs it out also he handles sour patch and swedes fish. Grocery store and how they are managed can very widely depending on area and chain stuff that is warehouse in one is not in a nether.
We know nothing at the moment we might go to a hybrid plan with a huge reduction in sales force. We might go full warehouse, we could use brokers,
I wish they would pull the plug on DSD already. This is so miserable!! Morale is at a all time low. Put us out of our misery!!!
If you don’t want to read things, don’t be on here! If you truly believe your job is so safe, why are you on this site??? Right, we all know it’s happening, Mondelēz is just being as organized and methodical as they can, they don’t want it to be like Kellogg’s exit. DSD just can’t survive this changing retail market. It’s economics, pay attention to financial side and read! I also see the signs at store level, CAO is running pretty smoothly at WalMart since February for us, so it’s a matter of time. Kroger, which we don’t have here, will be up and running soon...I personally think we will be lucky to see the end of this year with our jobs. I will say, at least some of us can appreciate that Kellogg’s went first, which opened our eyes to our own demise. We have had a lot longer to pay attention to signs and make decisions for our personal direction. Some choose to stay, some will or have moved on. It’s nice to have a site to go to and “compare” what we see and what we hear. Don’t tell me to send my resume, I will when I am ready!! I am not a cheerleader either, I just go to work and do my best for Mondelēz, while they still want me...life goes on! ✌️
All our confections are not dsd!! We too have a lot of warehouse items already so our supply chain is in place. Just waiting people for Kroger to pull the plug!! Get ready for some free time!!
They want to get CAO right at Walmart and Kroger before they let us go. Other chains will go 3rd party anyway. Meijer servu. It's all a process. Keebler process was easier since their whole line of breakfast foods were already in warehouses.
Not worth the time! Your a little lost with the supply chain, sorry! Good luck to you!
Yes it generates an order to send it to our warehouse and getting the 2 warehouses to communicate is a timely and costly process why do you think the original full roll out was April. Why not skip that step if it's only going to be 3 months.
Also most other chains haven't even started the process we are not going anywhere this year
Sorry, you make no sense! Are you are rep???? CAO orders, measures in hands etc, they have to be linked in order to generate an order!! Stores are doing it to move away from us generating an order to the retailers being linked to generate an order. Need to be linked into our systems in order to to that!! WM can scan out product now! Kroger cannot!!
I know what CAO is I have doing it for years the only reason they need to be linked is so that the product can be sent from our warehouse seems like a wasted to do that for only 3 months if you just going to pull everything from the one
Do you know what CAO is? Wouldn’t work if systems weren’t linked!
Because it has to be linked for CAO to work???? How else would CAO work?? Some people are really living in lala land! Why do you think they have invested so much time in CAO testing? And why do you think Mondelez has agreed to participate in this very expensive and time consuming test? Cause they don’t have a choice! They want order accuracy when RETAILERS move to CAO! The power of dsd is gone in close to 7000 stores across the country when WM and Kroger go CAO! It’s jusy a matter of time and Kroger followed WM with Keebler, they will do the same with Mondelez! No retailer will give up a competitive edge and if WM cuts their cost by eliminating dsd do you really think Kroger, Target, and all retailers won’t follow! Really??? Nature of the business!!
Yes I know Kroger is going CAO I said any Nation Wide Chain
Also There is money and time time spent to link those systems way do that if it's just going to come from there warehouse in 3 months?
BS! We were sent an email by our DM that Kroger was going CAO July!!! In writing! This may be pushed back slightly as they are still working to link systems but that was no rumor!!! Kroger is going CAO this summer!! Fact!
Has any one herd anything about Ahold or Albertsons going CAO I haven't and they both have about the same number of stores each as Kroger
I will say the "Hit Send Guys" make no sence even if we do lose our jobs why would I give up my vacation time, free money going into my 401k, time on my pension, the possibility of some kind of severance, and unemployment payments?
FOR SOMETHING NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN OR HOW IT COULD BE 3 MONTHS OR 1 YEAR OR MORE. NO OTHER NATION WIDE STORES BUT WALMART ARE GOING CAO OR TALKING ABOUT WAREHOUSE AT THE MOMENT
60 days as required by law, we won’t get any additional notice! Plenty of time to exit in 2018!
DSD is coming to a end as we all know. But no one knows the timing. It mayne 3 to 5 more years before we exit. It will not be this year as we should of heard something by know.
Final day's are here for DSD. Better hit send before it's too late. The cheerleaders will be left without their pom poms. One team one dream right till the bitter end.
Wow, “My DM U” may have nailed it! Next time your in a store, walk outside and look at the sign! If it reads Mondelez than yes, all your points are valid, if it doesn’t read Mondelez, than all you have said is irrelevant! I think everyone knows the answer! See retailers are not in business for increasing Mondelez profits, they are in business for increasing their own profits! Increasing margins in what they sell! Getting a new flavor on the shelf isn’t pressing for them!! It may be for us! And guess what, they can always do a preship and send a mi I hutch, like the PRD’s they shop now. You are so off base in your thinking! You seem to think we own our retail accounts. Nope, they do as they chose! Notice how some stores carry some sku’s of ours and others don’t?
Wow, good luck to you! Hope you find something when the news drops!
You are working awfully hard to convince yourself dsd isn’t ending! If it’s proof we are going to exit dsd you may just need to wait until the official announcement.
Your “speed to shelf” argument is laughable, sorry! Shelf integrity and compass reset teams typically reset, unless it is an independent which are few. Done on a schedule, and retailers accept new sku’s at their discretion.
Yes, retailers have a say so in whether they wish to purchase through v dsd (direct) or not! They can chose to no Ionger pay for the full service of dsd! Do you get to chose where you shop and what you pay? Called a free market economy. Not sure where you got your degree, maybe “my Mondelez DM U”? Wake up, your losing your job! May want to start looking now, may take YOU a while!
Ok point me to your "sources" and word of mouth from GMs are not sources those are called rumors.
You make it sound as if they are putting us in there warehouse and mdlz have no say in the matter if mdlz doesn't want to pay for slotting fees and space I guess they wont have have too because it's not there choice.
As for as margins go you also make it sound like the customer is going to dictate to nabisco how much they pay for product and then handle said product in any way they see fit. That's how you lose sales and market share. Example Tates in 2-3 of my chains has more displays then kebler and in one chain they have taken a 1/3 of there self space
With a warehouse model you can't innovate as fast And the US is the testing ground for products some of are biggest new brands would not have taken off as fast with out DSD because we can just rearrange and cut in new item at the speed they come in. Example something like Belvita sound be in the breakfast aisle but it started in the cookie because we just moved some product around and forced it In there. Other brands like Good things, fresh stacks, oreo thins, chips thins, ritz thins crisp, all of these item would require a reset to force in in a warehouse model but with DSD you can just rearrange your own stuff and make it work. We will always innovate and expairement with dozens of new Skus a year.
I've been a 3rd grocery guy and worked in CGO (similar to cao) when new items come in they sit on a boat or in the overhead for time. If it's a new flovar mybe it gets on the shelf in a week if its 6-12 new skus and a new brand that stuff is sitting around for a month waiting for a reset
Sounds like your boss has fed you some bs! When every GM tells you that they have never worked CAO without the intent of the the vendor going warehouse, you get a different story! WM and Kroger are going CAO with the intent to eliminate dsd! Other accounts may have gone CAO for other reasons but stores that now go CAO are doing it to regain profits! Bottom line!
You guys have CAO all wrong it's just about inventory and asset control. It's been done already in other chains. It's great for writing your shelf orders but it can handle high volume sales and external factors like weather and coupons
It isn’t Dirk’s choice to make! How about that fact!! Retailers choice! Mondelez is well aware of the direction retailers are going! How about them facts!! My sources are outside Mondelez! Been a part of their forecast years ago. All things are falling into place and just according to the timeline they predicted. Keep trying to “interpret” what Dirk is thinking, who cares what he thinks, he isn’t driving this bus. BTW, the decision of the retailers will intimately help Mondelez in NA. You sound really desperate, may want to start looking soon, everyone else seems to be a little more educated!! Red flags galore!
Only facts they have are Game over, sinking titanic, hit send, reality isn't an option and Nabisco cheerleaders😂😂!!
Don't listen to the"Fake News network" on here. They've been saying this and making false predictions for over an year now!
I have facts to back me up on DSD and Tates from may 31 of this year can you please give me your sources
Nope DSD here to stay, for some facts listen to the last shareholders meeting and listen to Dik
They are eliminating dsd! Sales reps, merchandisers, drivers, etc!
There not getting rid of DSD, Sales Reps mybe but not DSD
Tate’s won’t be dsd! Already known, get up to speed! Dirk already announced Mondelez won’t market it, it will handled by broker, like the rest of nabisco soon!
Tates will be DSD that's why we brought them in the markets they are warehouse they are not as good as the stores where they are handling by a vendor who does them and stauffer's. In the stores that have someone bringing the product in and packing it out they are killing it they stole 4-5ft section from kebler with 85% of that TATEs and 15% stauffer's
The warehouse can deliver every day but the time to market on dsd can't be beat months faster then warehouse
New item from warehouse take to long to get slotted and get to upwards of month to make it to shelf waiting on a reset or for someone to cut in
Spent a lot of time in the hollow tree. Now at Nabisco watching Mondelez follow Kellogg's scrip. It is painful to watch. Just like watching the same sad movie with a different cast. Watching a company spend millions to save pennies. When their vast resources could have been used to take advantage of the demise of their closest competitor. I stand in amazmet and disbelief...
Tate’s won’t ever be dsd! Mondelez is going warehouse at retailers request! End of story!
Warehouse can deliver every day. Thats fast. I deliver to alot of stores 1 time a week.
Actually shareholders knew that there would be an acquisition. It was mentioned in a previous call. They dont need to go into great depth but they can not lie.
So when a big shareholder asked about rates in one of the latest shareholders meeting and he says that Tates only has a 40% market penetration (which is why some of you don't think it's a big deal) he tells the shareholders that DSD will be used to increase that it can't be a lie
Also he talks about being nimble and trying new things like vea and keep up with trands and mostly importantly he talks about getting to market faster then the competition. You can't do that through a warehouse. The time from creation of product to being on shelfs is the fastest though DSD
Dirk does not have to go to shareholders for support to move away from dsd! BTW, it won’t be his decision, it’s the retailers that want the margins back! Did he ask you if it was ok to buy Tate’s? I’m a shareholder, he didn’t ask me! Get your facts straight!
I'm pretty sure the shareholders won't panic if he starts his tweeting. They would know mondelez is going to become more profitable. Thats all they care about.
We are profitable every year margins are up in all regions, the only down is year after year growth we are not running in the RED anywhere
That kind of mass layoff would not work in this economy if Trump herd about a company that already put US workers out on the street for jobs in Mexico he would be all over that and it would tank our stock
One tweet and the investors would be screaming
If it does happen it will be slow and gradually to avoid head lanes
We have more then 2-3x workers then kebler did the headlines would be "HUGE" "THE BIGGEST" he has no investment in company no problems tanking it for political gain
