Wonderful video from John and Vic. Don't know what I would ever do without seeing John's videos on a weekly basis. And hey, great to know that GRC is the center of all things GE.

I'd love to have a look at that video with Vic and Flannery. Hopefully somebody can port or stream it offline for those people who (involuntarily) don't work for the General anymore. I'm still waiting to get a look at the 2017 Corporate Officer Christmas vacation video, where everyone there is laughing like a whole crowd of lunatics from the asylum who've gone off their meds. The one that they had to issue and apology for the week after.
Ahead of the announcement to renovate and create space for the "Edge Lab", when I saw the staff in the library throwing out enough books each week to fill a 40-yard dumpster, I knew things were gonna go south quickly. It was like watching a captain drilling holes in his ship and watching it sink slowly enough that most people wouldn't realize anything until the water started coming up over your nose. I'm really surprised leadership didn't have have the researchers do something like compete to see who could fill a shopping cart full of books the fastest, and then haul them outside on the lawn for a massive book-burning bonfire
Anytime a research organization guts its library and its repository of internal corporate knowledge, then you know the place is changing for the worse and going down the toilet. And anyone in charge who says something to the effect of 'I can't stand going into someone's office and seeing shelves of text and reference books. If you can get the fact you need by Googling it, you have no business keeping any book with such information in your office'.

If you are at GRC, and you are not frantically looking for a new job right now, then you are a fool.
If you don't appreciate the CEO taking time to update the employees on a weekly basis, it's time to leave the firm. No one has a gun to your head.
Gotta love that video! Learn how Vic wisely got rid of the library and replaced it with productive space...
