Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Since when can MPU where shorts?

Even if they are below the knee, how is this “dress code”

I am just as hot as the next person with long pants on!!

But people get sent home for no collar on their shirt!!

@Tneb7oO-1nrj The thing is I have been unloading truck. We asked our SM (me and my co worker when the whole SST came into play) if we could get a coupon for work boots and he said workboots arent required anymore. We were shocked no one gets coupons anymore to buy workboots I feel this is a dirty tactic of our SM to be a cheap a--...

I did not hear anything about steel toe shoe requirement going away.....The reason our L.P. enforces the safety shoes and gloves is because of injuries in the backroom where the associates were not wearing the required safety gear.

And then the L.P. District manager shows up randomly unannounced and one of the first things he does is look on the cameras to see if the backroom associates are wearing their backbelts.....so when the LP associate does their daily walk with their checksheets, they check the backroom associates for safety compliance.....

So far in our store, with the Sales support team implementation, shoe dept associates have not gotten involved in working MPU or unloading trucks.....They assist in looking for .com orders but that is it....Most of the people working in our shoe dept are well past retirement age.

@Tneb7oO-1mdg Wait clear this out for me. I thought ever SST kicked in I thought steel shoes/boots werent required? According to our SM he said they weren't required no more or did he lie about it? I am curious about this.

@1mdg our back room people never wear steel toe shoes, back supports, any of the things that are meant to protect them, UNLESS there is a “visit” by RM

And management looks the other way

But let someone come to work without a collar on their shirt OMG

It’s a big deal!

Short pants are not allowed in our MPU Dept......Likely an instance of management looking the other way.....The true test would be to see if shorts are permitted to be worn during district or regional manager visits.

In our store, LP is always walking back to the dock checking to see if backroom associates are wearing steel toed shoes, backbelts, wearing workgloves and using safety retractable utility knives.....If a backroom associate gives the L.P. associate a hard time about not having any of these items, the L.P. associate runs and tattles to the L.P. lead who comes back to the dock and threatens to send people home if they don't follow the workwear policies.

If he learns where from wear then he would be smarter than most there and their children.....

Where huh? Ignorance is so sad. Maybe you should learn the difference between where and wear.

They're loading heavy stuff and moving merchandise around a warehouse for near minimum wage. As long as there aren't holes and they are of decent length be thankful you aren't the one out there in -30 to 110 trying to be both helpful and pleasant.
