Can anyone please tell me why we are losing great managers and other team members? Is there something I should know so I can look for another job? Are more layoffs coming?

Someone should have warned poor A**x about taking on the manager position at 1049. Good luck
Yes the manager at 1049 left and OPS at 0987 left as well.
In response to the question-did people quit, or were they fired/layed off?
I work in a large store and people come and go all the time. For hourly employees it is difficult because someone might be hired as a cashier and before you know it they are packing boxes of books and doing shipping and receiving but for no more money. It is also hard because there is no set schedule, one week you have 30 hours, the next 15. Since it changes all the time it is hard to have another job. I see it being great for student employees, not so great for anyone else in non management positions. As for managers, they are forced to do work they should not be doing. I don't think it is cost effective to have managers ringing the register or taking out the trash. I am not saying it is below them, there are just way more important things to tend to. Because managers are forced to do other things, they end up having to work many extra hours to get their work done. So, many people leave.
I did not think there were more layoffs coming, but what do i know!
Someone left?
Guess you misssed the posts about Reg 41 before they were removed. RUN. Follett is poison. What are you waiting for?
It's the Follett way, get rid of long term dedicated managers and employees , replace with incompetence at low wages. Sad but true. Welcome to my store, 3 employees are quiting due to incompetence of manager. Such a shame! It was a great store prior to new manager. To answer your question. YES GO
