Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I will resign if given an offer or assignment.

I know of others who will retire if offered a position.

It’s really sad.

I guess this was one way to do it. Congrats to those who made it happen.

Overstaffed Systems employees are affected. And they've been given no options. Either they'll get an assignment in June or they won't. The company is not saying what happens if they aren't given an assignment. A transition plan has not been approved is all they'll say.

Not all departments and job groups within are handled the same.

If you are an affected employee you can opt in or opt out. If you opt out you will not get an offer and collect severance. What are you talking about? If you were an affected employee you would know this.

What do I want? I thought that was obvious. Severance,

Otherwise I would just leave now.

Not sure I understand, you don't want an offer? What is it that you want?

I know of a few people just seeing if they get offered severance..when they got a position, they're now retiring, leaving a position that someone could have filled.

I don't blame people for trying to get a severance..SF should have just offered early retirement just to avoid this situation...but that would mean they cared
