I think I know what you are asking. Let's say May 4 is the last day that you are supposed to report to work at Qualcomm, and you are getting paid through June 19 (because of the warn act). If you get a job offer to start a new job on June 1, you can ask Qualcomm for permission to start the new job on that date. But, if it is approrved, Qualcomm will then consider June 1 (not June 19) to be your Qualcomm termination date. Qualcomm won't pay you for the period from June 1 to June 19, but you could still start your new job on June 1 that way.
