Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

I used to care

Now, I’m so beaten down, confused with all the things changing or not being told things are changing, I’m just done. Lay me off, do whatever. I’ll keep rolling along, but as a damn good worker, part of my emotional investment in the job that made me so good, is numb. Too weary to look for other work, going to ride the beast the best I can, and focus on members, not the pink elephant of dysfunction on the other end of the computer

There is life after INHUMANA, so glad I was in last RIF. New job, more money and benefits, pay my internet, give2000 to my family insurance deductible. Roster way lower and I get to keep members from now on.

They have done this since started and seen benefits of it and no changes planned

AMEN

I am focusing on my members, not numbers, and looking forward to vacation. Some of my quality reviews are not perfect, but I keep a good average. Keep a checklist by your desk to help you remember what has to be said so you don't get points off for introduction, validation, asking permission, wrapping up call, making sure member knows how to contact you, because these are the "easy points". Care plan documentation is hit and miss, unfortunately, because each reviewer sees things a bit differently. I don't intentionally get overtime and if I do have to say late, I take a longer lunch or leave early the next day, if possible. These are things that I have control over. I will say that the constant changes are at an all time high. We all need prayers!

CEU's are an appropriate use of wellness time, nothing wrong with that. And, we still get an hour. Other areas that never even had wellness prior to 2018 get 30 minutes.

There is a point where you have to decide if what H is doing is worth, quite literally, is worth sacrificing yourself to, in every single way, every day.... or if you will leave it, and live your life.

H takes advantage of individuals' good hearts, intentions and determination to do a good job. Health care, social services is historically known to do that.... . Your worth is not based on the kool-aid fools at corporate. It is MORE THAN OKAY to take care of yourself and get out. I was part of the Nov RIF and I began LIVING again after leaving. The dang place killed my heart and soul. Truly, I cannot emphasize enough-- THERE IS LIFE OUTSIDE OF HUMANA, GET OUT!!

When you check for someone in an abusive situation-- what are the symptoms/signs to look for?? See any overlap here?? Seriously, think about it.

I don't care what they spout, claim, put on LI to show 'transparency' and best practices, it is a media spin, nothing more. Those who have the cash based on the biz want to keep it, and will do what they need to, to ensure it. THAT is the bottom line.

Be what others call 'selfish' one time in your life.... take care of yourself and get out. This biz/place is toxic.

Now that we’re hourly, we are told we can’t attend CEUs unless we use wellness time, we have issues with numbers, and yet, we are still told to attend town halls and other such meetings that say nothing....I like the poster who said drive for excellence....I feel like a hamster on a wheel, and I can’t pinpoint when the change happened in the past few months, or why....it was after the last RIF, though....just the feeling that the so called transparency was gone, and there’s something afoot I’m part of, but I have no idea what or why....a guess it’s a lesson in big business....so, keep trying to meet the members needs, and, as the other poster said, ignore the elephant who is sitting on my drive for excellence

I feel the same way. Can’t evenget my numbers anymore and really don’t care. Not enough hours in a day for all the changes, meetings, e mails and Licensure requirements. I feel numb and lost empathy for the members. My heart is no longer in it. Humana has taken my Drive for excellence.

Couldn't agree more. I'm tired of all of the outsourcing and the incompetence that comes with it. So many dedicated associates have been laid off due to outsourcing, and more are likely to be laid off in the coming months. Humana does not care about its associates, they only care about their bottom line.

I think with all the programs they are unfolding, they have a vision, but not a clearly executed way to get there, and if they told us what the end game was, it may make more sense to us....to tell us review scores were changed, for some it’s a lowering, for some it’s an increase, we know it’s tied to CMS, but couldn’t they just say CMS standard is 85%, and to get our HEDIS rating back we want to be above that, or whatever the scenario is? Instead of all the questions and head scratching going on, we may actually feel part of a process

Thank you for saying this. I feel the same. Either mgmt has no clue or they plain just dont care.

I completely agree! I am just focusing on my members. I truly believe management has no clue how to properly manage HAH.
