All Quiet in central Florida. Almost every tech ( OSP, Fiber, Cable, Construction, COT's, tech 1's and tech 2's and even contractors) and the sales people feel secure in their job for years to come.

No body except Managers seem worried at all. They are out getting new mortgages, cars, setting their kids in new apartments, going on expensive vacations. Strange.

Here in central Florida they offering RIFs and if not enough voluntarily leave, the company will go to involuntarily laying off. Here's the kicker, they refuse to disclose the number of CRAFT workers that need to be reduced. Apparently the company doesn't care or feel they need to disclose that. Because if least senior employees get laid off, then they miss out on the $26,000 in contract plus whatever bonus money for years of service. So, the company would rather not say and terminate those employees and all they would get is 2 weeks pay for every year of service. It's just wrong all around. People have families and if Centurylink cared they would express we need say 25 techs and only 5 put in for the package. So 20 could get laid off, but that saved the company money and puts good workers and people with no job or income. I understand it's a business and has to be run a certain way. But there is a humane way to do things and it's clear they don't care. If you show your employees you care they will bend over backwards to help the company succeed. I mean corporate greed at it finest. No bonuses, only cut cut cut. Once the FCC investigates the padded CAF connect America Funds that Centurylink received to bring fast speeds to rural America. They will be doomed for falsifying accounts to make it look like they are upgrading networks, but they are not. All they have to do is audit areas where the CAF customers are shown but all spaced out. Because this company is taking people who remove PRISM and who have had access to over 10meg before they received the money and just changing the speed code to CAF to make the quota by 2020. That's not using the money to invest In it's network when they had access to it before CAF. That's letting s sales reps upgrade a customer from 10 meg to 10meg CAF and giving them money for that sale. An incentive to make it look like they used the money to connect America. When in reality they are cutting jobs and giving Jeff and his Level 3 top bosses free travel and huge bonuses. Yet can't help the middle class working families with a bonus before Christmas. Go file and complain to FCC to investigate Centurylinks use of government grants....
