Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

We know where we are

So, it looks like 11 percent of American workers fear layoffs within a year and 59 percent are confident of job security. It's sad that 100 percent of State Farm employees are nowadays in those 11 percent. But does anybody remembers what it was like to be in those 59 percent? I do. I miss those times.

WE know our office in going close, we are on the close list. WE just wish that THEY would just put us claim people out of our misery and just offer us severance and close the office. All the other departments that are in the building all have their QTD dates....claims doesn't. Yes they are trying various tactics with claims to thin the herd. But our herd is stronger than most.

Just put us out of your and our misery...please, cause you are setting yourself up for one heck of a lawsuit..just sayin.

A lot of the jobs in My Block are only available to resources not currently working at State Farm and many come with a $2,000 referral bonus if you, as an employee, refer a hire. If you know good applicants, you could earn some bucks. Recent hires who just graduated could make some good money over the next year by referring friends because I suspect there are going to be a TON of postings on the horizon.

Back in 1997 (21 years ago!) I came in to work one morning and there were fliers on all of our desks. Our department was offering $50 to any employee who could refer someone for a job! Boy, that will never happen again.

Amen. Only a mutual cimpany would tolerate endless waste of money and huge blunders and let executuves keep their jobs. The peons get ti pay, as usual, along with lamemtations ftom executuve about how much they care...

I remember. Unfortunately, I don't think that culture will ever exist at State Farm again, not after this hack job of a reorganization. Because it's clear that the business is going to suffer as a result (because how could it not?), and then they'll be scrambling to fix their mistakes again and again.

New executives, please.
