Is there any one on here that knows if the company is doing away with this position , I have heard in the past that people in these positions were grandfathered to them they just weren't replaced when that person left the company . Has anyone here heard anything about this position ?

If you have that position consider yourself lucky. It is up to the managers discretion if they keep that position. Service channel took over that years ago. Right now I'm sure you don't work on the lifts or PM them. You probably just paint them and blow them out. You're the next one of us long term associates that gets the BIG F U! Sorry, go to Costco where they treat their people right. That's what I did, starting pay only one dollar less than my 29 year Sam's salary.
Our forklift maintenance was told last month that this position was eliminated. He had this job for at least 15 years.He lost pay and was put in a regular maintenance position.
Haven’t had one in 15 years, the guy that could fix them they eliminated him he was a manager. This manager could fix anything and they choose to let him go, all I can say is their loss f---ing idiots..

We have not had anyone on that
position for over 12 years. I think it is safety related meaning you need
an authorized serviceman to repair
the lifts.
the general manager has the autonomy to not fill jobs if they think their club can do without...it is one way a GM increases their own pay.....the less they spend on payroll the bigger their bonus can be......in our club we have never in 20 plus years had a forklift maintenance person even though the option has always been there......................
Our market has already eliminated the position.
why would this position be eliminated in one market and not another , does this mean its up to the market manager to weather someone gets to keep their job or not
although this position has been on the personal preference screen for years we have never had a person fill this spot in our club..........
