West Chester warehouse is expanding to support the NY based company we just brought
Just because you never herd of TATES doesn't mean there not a big deal, that's another reason we brought them is because of the low market penetration but the they literally taking space away from keblers in some of my stores and they target audience is stealing business from peprage farm not our own brands.DSD and the way we do it might change but DSD is not going anywhere anytime soon the most I see is changing is less sales reps mybe, and no cars.
CAO doesn't mean warehouse it means you actually need to sell some sh-- in to hit your number vs just jamming it all in there backroom
Why would they buy the warehouse next door in West Chester? Because that will be a regional hub to feed into Payton, which h the way just expanded! The west Chester branch cannot handle things currently, you don’t think they are expanding for dsd do you? Payton, Super Value, and Mclane need to get their product from somewhere! Why do you think they consolidated the branches to begin with? Not to save money, fuel costs are far more expensive than warehouse space! It’s because they will use the regional warehouses to deliver to retail warehouses! They were strategically placed!
A cookie, "tates", which I never even heard of until recently, is going to save a nationally declining cookie/cracker market? I think I'll invest in other options.

And if someone says TATES will remain a separate company they will, we will just be the 3rd party handling them and exacuteing there needs. The resone this makes sense is that we have a national distribution chain where most of the 3rd partys they are currently useing and having success with are only regional or sub-regional and can very in price, quality, and availability

TATES currently can't expand with a full line more west because warehouse costs are too expensive that's way we brought them because we can expand them easily with DSD. I have stores where they get about 50% of the space that peprage farm gets but those are only when they are brought in through a vendor not warehouse. They also can expand easily with DSS because of smart packaging it can be cases stacked easily in stores, they are currently useing that display only approach in another chain but again useing 3rd party not warehouse to bring in the product

My warehouse in West Chester bought the warehouse next door. We're expanding so why would we expand if we're getting out of DSD??

Anyone gotten a new company car lately? Going on 100k miles on mine and still no email to get a new one like every 60k in the past. Seems they have put a hold on the new ones until after the changes.
Don't think we are dumping dad completely just yet but believe it's going to be another major layoff similar to the last one very soon. I think they are taking us piece by piece until everything is in place in next couple years to finally take the final plunge
