Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Will Q make counter offer?

If I share my other job offer with management, will they counter offer? Can they? Are they even allowed to?

If nobody has made a counter offer, then don't ask for one. It might be embarrassing to find out nobody cares aboit retaining you.

Why the $&@k would you even consider staying?

I recommend leaving. Time to think strategically. Where will Qualcomm be in 1 year, 2 years, and so on.

The short term outlook is sketchy. The long term outlook is horrible. Unrealistic future product proclamations which do not have a viable R&D plan in place to deliver.

We need to layoff another 2,000 US (jobs and work geoshifted to BDC). If your work can be done in India without development risk it will be. Question - does your team have a team in BDC? If so, your job is already in line to be terminated in the US and offshored to India.

With that said. I would carefully evaluate your situation and respond accordingly.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush! unfortunately the bush and the birds are being moved to India.

Don't even entertain a counter offer. It's to buy time till they figure out how to make your departure later (on their terms) impacts them least. They'll also know you aren't loyal and they won't forget when the next round of layoffs happen.

Your future bonus and stock grants may be lowered after they give you a raise to match. Why stay? Did you want to leave only for more money?

Qcom will not counteroffer. Someone leaving on their own saves them money by not havimg to pay severance. You will be replaced by someone at half your salary.

Is never good to accept counteroffer....this is what most HR professionals will say.

Move on be a success at the new job. Job market is good now but as with all things...it will not last

No need to show them

They just ask figure if they intended to make counter offer . But ask to show the offer only after you accept counter offer

Not in this environment. You will be asked to GTFO.
