I don’t understand how so many people can hate working at a company, spend their time bad mouthing everything about it and how miserable it is to work there, yet fear being laid off?
You clearly don’t want to work here, and if that’s the attitude you bring to work, I promise none of your coworkers want you here either.
There are literally help wanted signs everywhere. Can’t find something that provides the same pay and benefits? Don’t want to take the steps or put in the work to get you to a better place? Then I’m afraid this is as good as it gets, so act accordingly.
I’m sure this will fill up with comments of management troll, out of touch, along with other comments lacking anything constructive and just general “b--ching”.
That’s fine. I’m not miserable, I enjoy coming to work. I realize that could end with a layoff, but if so, so be it. I’ve saved, I’m prepared, manage my contacts, and ready for new opportunities.
You’ll either take control and responsibility for your own life and get yourself to a similar place of happy (be it in your current role or another, even at a new company) or you’ll continue to be miserable. Life will just be you existing in it, probably complaining all the way to the end.
Good luck with what ever you choose.
