For the past 30-40 years the Baby’s boomers dominated the cohort of America. As they have aged and progressed in life, the millennial generation (much larger that Gen X) now dominates that cohort.
So yes, In every aspect of your American life, not just at AT&T, Baby Boomers are being replaced by Millennials. If you are a Baby Boomer, you will continue to see products, services, policies, opinions emerge in your everyday life that you will like less and less. This increases as millennial s make up more of the leadership positions in our political, religious, corporate, and community institutions.
The work force should represent the customer base. So as Baby Boomers represent less and less of the customer base, Ideally, the workforce should reflect that too. Just like a company of Pet Supply products would be best served by a workforce of pet lovers/owners
Millennials may face this same shift as a larger demographic develops behind it. However, Millennials are to date the most educated generation, and as levels of education increases, birth rates decrease.
Not to get off topic, but for the continued long term success of this country (50-60yrs and beyond), this is why immigration reform and growing our countrys labor force is so important, because we’ve stopped growing it the old fashion way. At least not at the same rate we used to.
So they can build the wall, just make sure we install some large gates to open up.
