Here we go again! AT&T received the tax cut at the beginning of the year in excess of 20 billion. They gave 1k in bonuses to their 200k employees then announced layoffs immediately after with the last day of employment being 7/11/18. The Time Warner acquisition was approved today to the tune of 84.5 billion dollars and immediately another layoff was announced, this time the notification went out saying to voluntarily resign or if enough people do not voluntarily resign them another force reduction will be done. I’m fed up!

I was laid off on 3/30. No, AT&T doesn't care. American workers affect the $$ bottom line. HiB and Offshore is still #1 with AT&T.
I pay retail for Verizon service rather than have a small discount for horrible T cell phone coverage and service.
If an employee has to use their personal Verizon cell phone as a hotspot, you def have problems lol.
Verizon s network is #1, AT&T a distant 2. And everyone agrees DTV now is a joke.
Don’t count on a better package it won’t be voluntary if they don’t get the numbers and I don’t think they wait till September. They aren’t obligated to give anything to management.
Lol. Verizon is not “much” better. They’re mildly better in certain markets. They’re trash where I am. DTV is a superior product in comparison to everyone else. They just need better on demand and a voice remote.
It's only going to get worse. Do not use any of their services. Verizon is much better anyway. DTV is garbage, don't use it. The buisness community is running away from them also, fed up for the same reasons. There are too many alternatives to tolerate AT&T. Now TW, they will ruin that just like everything they touch. Goodbye HBO...
Dude, get over it. A corporation while for tax purposes is considered a person, is not a person. Its run by people. Go do your own thing and not depend on T. This is 2018 here its easy to do your own thing. I am doing my own thing on the side (not competing) and i control how much I make, i dont rely on T for my satisfiaction. I was amused at the offer yesterday as it was not as good as I thought it could be. I doubt they will get the amount of people they need to get to make their numbers. So look for a juiced up offer in September or maybe January.
Whenever you call for any kind of assistance, (your telecom, your bank) and detect that the person on the other end of the phone is speaking with a funny accent, it it your right to DEMAND that you be transferred to a person in the USA. These companies just got a massive tax break and yet they think they're going to just continue laying off Americans. Don't let them get away with it. And more importantly, don't be a useful idiot who defends it!
T is counting g on widespread H1B visas and more offshoring.
This is the plan - lowest cost no matter - quality be damned. What is the lowest quality that will be accepted. That being in call centers, English please, field techs, outsource, engineering, outsource, IT - offshore/ outsource. The minimum.
T does not care about the" American" worker, just money. You are a liability.
They fire Americans, bring in h1bs and outsource the rest. No one in the government cares, despite their claims.
Layoff announcements are planned every 3 months on the 15th. The timing isn’t because of Time Warner. Next round is 9/15 then 12/15.
