Network is no long core to AT&T now that it's become Hollywood. ATO is being run by an accounting beancounter with no Tech or IT background for a reason. She just is there to cut and clean it up and it'll be sold off. Take the package and run. This will be the last time you see money like this.

I heard that ATO folks got this... i work for non-ATO and did NOT receive the email. Is it going to happen for all departments? How do i let know that im interested ?

If your surplus package says involuntary and it ought to, T won't challenge an unemployment claim, whether you "volunteered" or not. If you released for cause, you won't get UI.

That's what I thought. But that varies by state. In my state if someone leave employment under a plan to reduce force, it is immaterial whether it was voluntary or involuntary. It is only material that you left employment as part of a plan to reduce force.
So, check with your state unemployment office and don't assume.
Have to accept by July 5th, off payroll by July 30th, and you can rescind it up to some point... that's if you take the voluntary offer. I work in IT and I'm considering it. I'm going to put my resume out there and see how fast I can turn that around. Maybe a nice bonus to go away...
why do they make offers to management. they don't have to?

If it's the same offer of 6 months pay.. they are trying to be sneaky to not pay unemployment. Because once you volunteer you cannot receive unemployment because they will say you quit and didn't get laid off.

there is nothing in this offer that is any different than if you are surplussed. Ill hang on till they make me leave I guess...disappointed nothing more enhanced was offered.
Not a good package - same as it was - 6 months - nothing special, nothing to encourage you to leave early. In this package you resign - a way to get around the protected groups they are targeting,
Why would they they didnt even make an offer to managers other than the same thing they receive if let go
Any thoughts on if they will make an offer to the techs/craft?
