Directv WOW - Walk out watching is worthless

I really hope someone above the ARSM level reads this and takes it to heart. Your numbers are skewed on the retention rate IF we perform walk out watching for customers that purchase directv. I hate to tell you but your stats are completely made up numbers. We kept tabs for a whole month in my store, we found fewer than 8% of the customers that even had the app ( they all commented that the sales rep forced them to load it too ) even use it. We all kept our survey numbers on our company tablets, after all, we are dedicated and we drive results. So we took our idea to a sister store, had them survey customers. It was a complete joke. Bottom line is this, walk out watching does not work about 72% of the time upon the order completion and your customer base does not watch it like you think they do and they certainly do no care. But what you do have is a complete waste of time on the sales reps and managers running around trying to create the experience when you could be assisting other sales or customers. Total hamster wheel set up.

If you log in on the screen it will quickly reload the walk out watch button. Just don’t reset the OPUS profile or it will make you start fresh. Makes it so much easier.

I need to hire a consultant to get insights into how Randy is going to approach walk out watching from now on. #PayToPlay

Keep giving away work to other roles and they won't need us. Maybe the plan is we all go door to door, We could all be mobile, selling tv on the go, walking around parks, malls, showing people and selling on the spot.

The IHX is basically a door to door salesman. They can sell windows, vacuums, siding all on the same visit. Coming soon, a broader range of products for IHX. Rofl

Walk out watching is just another flavor of the month metric that will eventually be discontinued.

I agree it isn’t a big deal to set it up as long as it is working. Just fix the registration errors that sometime happen.

Pick your battles. Walk out watching is not that big of a deal. People are losing their jobs in this business so don’t ask them to take work away from us lmao

Of all the sh-- to complain about setting up an app that takes 5 minutes for the 5 tv sales I do each month is on the bottom of my list.

How about the list ten miles long of all the sh-- I have to do for an upgrade I only get paid almost nothing for?

I am in IHX and I would just prefer you didnt create the account because 9 times out of 10 you create a bogus username and password the customer doesn’t know and I have to reset it. Of course when it is done right it makes my job easier but it is so rare. Usually a rep creates a bogus login and streams on their device and never talks to the customer about it.

And a majority of customers love the IDEA of streaming TV whether they do it a lot or not. If we are going to compete with Netflix and Hulu we have to do this.

So please quit setting up the app and let us do it. It is easier on us and the customers love when we show them what they can do. That would make my job easier :)

I hate BS metrics like SmartChk every single customer. But I don’t agree walk out watch is a problem. Even if customers don’t use it there is no harm in showing them and creating an account. Unlike SmartChk you don’t have to do it a dozen times per day with no evident benefit for the average person.

It really doesn’t take that much time and there is no other potential downside in setting up a login for the customer and showing them how to use it.

How many TV sales per day is each rep in your store doing? 3, 4, 5? You make it sound like you have a line of people all setting up DTV and waiting to get user names and passwords. If that is true, then don’t complain — because you are making way more money than the rest of us.

In reality each rep in your store probably sell 5-10 directv per month on average which is one every 3 days. Setting up a log in that someone might enjoy is just not a big deal when you do it every third day.
