Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Feb Lay-off

Anyone else in the February layoff group that was only eligible for 4 weeks of severance have their health insurance cut off on May 7th? I was under the impression I would be getting my last severance check this coming Friday (18th) and opted to continue health insurance during my severance period. Benefits is telling me my coverage ended with my severance and should be getting Cobra info and I don’t think that’s correct?

My new job insurance starts on the 1st. So glad I got my 401 out already cause they stopped even taking out my own contribution. So out it went to financial company my dad used.

I will get severance till about mid August, so thankful can get ahead. Prayers for all HUMANA survivors! There are better places!!!

May 7th is the last of 4 weeks. They paid our severance starting with our very first day after our seperation. The check we got 3 weeks ago had 6 days of regular pay on it plus 4 of severance

why would the severance pay for 4 weeks only be through the 7th? 4 weeks is 4 weeks. So I am expecting my last 2 week severance pay which will be higher since no insurance taken out. But I did understand the insurance to only extend for 30 days if needed so that would be May 7th.

The 4 weeks began the day after our last official day on April 9th. Humana wouldn't stop coverage to restart again once they received the paperwork we had to mail back. Unfortunately that means if you had 4 weeks the insurance last day was May 7th. The severance checks had to stick to the biweekly pay schedule so you may still be getting a check this week but it's only for hours through the 7th.

Oh my I have another 6 weeks of severance left. I’m not sure how this will work luckily I’ve started a new job so insurance coverage won’t be a issue. Maybe there was miscalculation of when your severance will end.
