Any word?

Any word on stores closing Sunday’s? If so, which market?

Almost half the stores in South Central are closing on Sunday's with the rest reverting to 10-7 hours during the week and an early shift of 12-5 on Sundays. They've already begun consolidating and are head hunting stores to turn Indirect or shut down completely. Even "new" stores are getting the axe on hours regardless of remodel or not. It's coming.

We used to run stores with only a GM, we had no sm, we had 10-12 reps, some of which were key holders. If Sundays go away this would be very doable again.

What are you even talking about OP? When I was hired in 2004, stores had one store manager and one assistant manager. Open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 8:00pm.

So what makes you think they can't go back to that or even less? Glory days are long gone. Stores are money pits and worthless. Goodbye.

"Closing sundays and cutting to 1 sm 1 gm per store nation wide by 8-1"

No. At least not all stores. Maybe closing on Sunday, but even that would be unlikely for any "Mall Store" (i.e. in or on mall property) as those with few exceptions mirror mall hours.

And then there are the stores that staff 10-15 Solutions Specialists... that would be damn near impossible to run with only 1 GM and 1 SM.

But most difficult to overcome would be that managers would be force to each to work solo bell-to-bell at least once per week, and labor laws exist that say breaks have to be given at certain amounts of work day hours. You can't legally schedule someone from say, 9 to 8:30 or 9 to 9:30 and not allow them at least a 30 minute break. And you cant make an employee stay on the premises during non-paid hours. No way in Hell Verizon allows any store to be without a manager on site for 30+ minutes.

Oh and then lets say they even some how pulled off the bell to bell with the minimum 30 minute lunch.... unless every other day was short, scheduled hours of 42+ per week would become the norm, and SMs would bail. getting paid half time over 40 hours is a scam.
