Fluid QTD date? Specific to Bank...

Since we have received the final opt-in/opt-out form that is due 6/25 I have another concern. For those of us that opted out, the QTD is 8/31. The form says that QTD can be either before or after that date, something to the effect of as long as it is mutually agreed upon in writing by both parties.

So I have received two job offers. Both companies were not big on a September start date so I could get my severance. I have a strong feeling they will accelerate the QTD. Underwriters who opted out are supposedly are having lending authority slashed in June so they will be dead weight. And if the rumor mill is true about who got the originations manager position in St. Louis, that's another classic SF move. If I refused to move my QTD to another date, I'm sure they would see to it that you have a miserable time during your last days. I would hate to get fired so close to the actual QTD but I can't help but think there will be people who get fired near the end. The more I process this, I think it's in my best interest to leave as soon as possible and forget about collecting severance. Is anyone else feeling the same way? Or has anyone who has already been through this had their QTD adjusted? What's the process like?

@T7FwwQ7, i was an IT analyst teleworker. I did get my QTD moved up. I was told in Oct. I had to stay until March 31, to get involuntary severance. I started looking for a job right away (did not wait fir the "help" by external firm) and i had an offer by Dec. New employer also wasn't excited to wait until March 31. I pused to get my QTD adjusted... took about 6 weeks to make it happen. I left with an agreed QTD of Jan 31. Got my $.

If the rumored person is accurate I will have lost some respect for the new director for making that choice.

Maybe all of these people who have climbed the corporate ladder into leadership positions aren’t the best fit after all. TM version 2? Hopefully not.

If you got a firm job offer, you better take it. No question.

I cant imagine they will want you to stay after the QTD. the IT managers let go in March - “voluntarily” and the involuntaries leaving in June have not had theur dates change.

If the rumor is true about who got the managers job in STL then that selection can only be because the new director got to hand pick her buddy. It could not have been based on any of the factors HR said they would use.

For me, the deciding factors to stay through the QTD or to leave now would be: 1. How much your involuntary severance will be. 2. This would be weighed against the possibility of losing the jobs you have been offered. 3. Also, how difficult will it be to replace the job after QTD and are there many people in your area that you will be competing against. Bottom line, if you are going to get a relatively small severance but will lose your replacement job(s), I would leave now. Don't look back...

I think what the poster meant is while they won't move the 'official' QTD, the form you have to submit in June does clearly say you can be asked to leave early or stay longer than the official QTD as long as it is agreed upon by both parties. If they ask you to go or stay and you refuse is where the gray area is. Considering who we're dealing with, if you refuse you probably get put under the microscope looking for any reason to fire you.

If you have a job offer, I would take it and not look back. Finding a job in the banking industry in September will be a lot tougher. It's not likely they will be moving the QTD. In other areas of the enterprise, we saw people sit there, doing nothing until the last day.

How do you know the manager selected in STL? Was this posted somewhere? And don't leave before severance, you will regret it. It's not that far away!
