I think the "high bar" the previous poster was referring to is with respect to diversity. At Intel in recent years, only external candidates from "red carpet events" could be hired without VP approval. The red carpet events are where they bring in a bunch of URMs and groups fight over getting their pick of the litter.
Needless to say the bar for talent and skills is pretty low at Intel these days, unless you call having some minority DNA a skill.
Intel doesn’t have a high bar unless you count all those folks over there pidgeon holed in dead end design jobs.
Sad really.
