Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

1hhh, yes absolutely and I don't blame them. Just hopefully everyone learns a new trade while waiting. Because most will think they can just jump into another retail job. Sadly retail is not the jobs to have anymore. They are all changing rapidly now. If something else is not learned, a new job will be super hard to find. Then factor in how old you will be at that time. It's going to hurt... That severance won't last long.

To Jwq. People are waiting because they don’t want to miss an opportunity to receive 25+weeks of severance pay. If they leave on their own right now- they leave with nothing. Their severance check will be a nice chunk of money to live on for a while and pay off some bills.

I'm gonna be the negative Nancy here. I really think they know and don't care because they know big changes are ahead. Down the road there won't be much more than fresh to come in and buy. Everything else will go online and click n pull. That's why it SEEMS they don't care. Actually they are just taking the loss at the moment because it'll all be different later. That's why people are saying get out now. Soon a huge majority will be offered a severance. It's not wise to wait. The more years you wait for that check is more time you waste. You're getting older and not experienced in other professions which will make it harder to find something else. Just my thoughts.

Same here in my club. It is so sad to see members taking advantage. They bring back TV without Receipt over 2 years not able to verify the purchase and managers still refund it and they get away with a new smart TV. Really MEMBER'S MUST WIN cases of water's, soda's ect walking out the door just cause our GM said we are not allowe to touch there item if they have bags don't understand
