Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Contractors are the enemy

If any of you are helping contractors you are contributing to the problem. F them.

Too bad most of you will be looking for a contractor job when your 6 months post layoff is up. Sad fact that most CLECs or other telecom providers won't touch union workers with a ten foot pole. Put the blame on technology making copper and customers go bye bye. Over a decade ago I worked payphone and look how many of them are around now. Soon copper will go the way of the buggy whip

Contractors were never the problem. Corporate greed is your culprit. That and a stock dividend of over 11 percent. The jobs lost are not due to overlapping jobs, Level 3 did not have any employees who work on copper (legacy) networks. 40 percent of CenturyLink's revenue stream is coming from the legacy networks, so this is pure corporate greed.

There are pieces of crap on both sides. No contractors in the load since January. And yet pairs are still being taken, ni's not being grounded, and calls being closed without work being done. Everyone still needs to put food on the table and a roof over head.

If the contractors do such a great job, Why do the union Ctl techs have to go back and fix their mistakes. Why aren't contractors fined or best yet having to fix their mistakes without double dipping Ctl??

The Centurylink lawyers have screwed up so badly over the last 4 years they have cost the company millions on labor board charges and lawsuits. Yes, I hope those same lawyers are controlling this.

When you are all out of a job and apply with the so called scabs I hope they have a required question on their new hire forms that says. "During your time as a CTL employee have you ever had something against contractors?"

The CTL attorneys have this under control this union will soon be broken down, and kicked to the curb. The employee lazyness hiding behind the union is gone. Are you CTL employees okay with lazy employees sticking around when hard workers get cut just because of tenure...dumbest sh-- I ever heard...wake up
