Marketing and Membership Lead

How long will marketing and membership lead be around? Can't compete in the field when y can get a better deal on the cost of a membership on line.

Direction was to be in field 100 %. Now it's back to helping the membership desk, fund raisers, calling on the top declining businesses and whatever else they find needing to be done in Club.

I think it's already started. HO is finding other tasks for MTL. I dont understand just a couple of months ago the direction was to be in field 100% now they are assigning different task inside the club.

I do believe the position will be eliminated. If it is they have to offer severance. If not you can leave and get unemployment.

The mtl are being eliminated . There changing your job duties and using you in other areas so they dont have to offer you a severence yet. They want most of you to quit before they do it , just like the Rec. Clerks . When they get everything aligned and in place, the changes will take place. It may not be until after the Holidays so they can use you first .... trust me , there will be a lot of restructuring very soon . It has to happen. Theres so much wasted payroll, you all know that.

No news lately on Marketing. Seems to have calmed down. Still do not have new iPads or Debit Readers as they said we would be getting. Still promoting membership deals on line much better than In Field offer. I guess it will be a wait and see game now.

We read on the wire and hear in training that it is to be 100% in field sales but our club doesn't even acknowledge this. They still you TL to close a few nights a week, front end help, desk, etc. if they see us have to appointments or drives they are pulling us elsewhere.

I wish they would get new iPads and cc readers. It is so embarrassing when our readers and iPads don't work.

I continue to work the desk on an as needed basis and I have no coordinator.

MTL and Coordinator is to be in field 100% we were told we are not to be scheduled at the membership desk. To concentrate only on memberships in field. Any other MTL heard this???

We were told our positions won't be going away. We are suppose to get new iPads with Wi Fi built in, debit reader and it will also make membership cards. Can't wait to see how long that's going to last.

Some days I wish they would go ahead and eliminate Membership and get it over with. Tired of the Business Blitz every month. Businesses can't get in at 7am anymore unless they pay $100 for the Plus and this is resulting in pisses off Business Members! On line offers are much better. Our Membership desk is seeing more members join on line than actual walk ins. Waste of time and pay out on the roads soliciting memberships

Our marketing TL just helps out membership and floor partners 75% or more of the time. Not sure how that justifies a $32k+ wage plus benefits for a person that has work for Sams for only 6 months.

I want to know where the direction is that TL and coordinator is to be in the field 100% of the time. Our clubs desk and front end is getting our help when we don't have drives, business focus, or appointments. I've heard nothing from our manager or CM that they want us in the field our whole shift. Even though I agree it should be since that is what the positions are for.

Here too! As Membership TL its as though we don't exist any more. On the road everyday is senseless. Driving around in circles burning up gas and wear and tear on our vehicle. Nothing but a rep. Don't need 2 people in Marketing 😕

My membership team lead has had all his other duties such as scheduling, helping out at the membership desk etc. have all been taken away.
