Hopefully it’s just noise but we are now hearing of additional layoffs coming this July. I don’t know anything more than that. Just a passing message from another employee. If it’s true, we should all be concerned. Not just about a layoff but the possibility that PepsiCo could be bought by another company. Why else thin things out so much?

R&D is moving to NY from IL.
Here is what’s Forced Retirement in July, layoffs August and total reorganization in November. That’s the rumor in Purchase. Although I don’t work here I just scrub the bathrooms.
We are hearing next round after 100 days of summer and will include admins. Streamlining and consolidating jobs. Luckily I’m near retiring and taking the pension lump sum and running away. This company is not what it used to be.
They have MEM people traveling around acting like they do something, and add nothing to selling any products. This is a huge scam. They could cut millions with some of these MEM project people and not miss a beat.
Need to cut useless B1s
They make too much $$$ to not provide value. Keep the 25% that actually work
Same for all bonus levels honestly
Lots of B2s and B1s that are also completely useless on the open market. Mehmood should be the first to go though as he's the most useless of them all.
Plenty more R&D cuts still viable. The last round only hit certain levels and groups.
The most Sr. leadership escaped in order to protect Mehmood's hiring reputation or because they were tight with him - not because they were good at their jobs. Lots of B4's and 3's that could be swept away without hurting the business.
Today we were informed that Winston Salem and Plano are being gutted and the jobs sent to India.
This is true. Additional layoffs for IT are coming for sure. This will be an ongoing process. As those that heard from our Chief Information Officer after the first round, she didn't tell us that it was over.
Heard R&D to be thinned out some more. GOOD, too many arrogant people bragging about how superior they were cause they got to stay. Well, you're going to be sent packing soon!
They also reduce headcount by outsourcing and offshoring.
To the two people who have heard this ... location? Business function?
I have been hearing the same. Business is not doing good and they have to drive productivity by reducing HC since that is the biggest cost bucket.
