Receiving Team Lead

So much talk about the Clerks, but what about the receiving team lead position. They are over the clerks. Once the Clerks are gone, who is the team lead going to be over? There will not be a need for a team lead position at that point. With the work load slowing down drastically, what will happen to this position? Any ideas?

People keep saying, get out of the office. Our clerk is always helping everywhere. There sure are some rude bitter people that are jealous of them!

Fresh team leads are in the fresh office more than our clerk is.....and they will all be making upwards of $30. Talk crap about them!

yes non leads often carry keys but that is against company policy...when regular hourlies carry keys it is because the managers are too lazy to get out of the office and walk to the compactor or open the vendor door....that is a fact....

Somebody of high authority has to watch those doors in the receiving. More probable than not the lead stays and the clerk goes to part time in receiving dock or claims or to the floor, or bye I guess. Big thing here, are all leads over associates?? NO, ptc and clerk are not over anyone. bye-bye first, then reassess structure..

You do NOT have to be a lead to be a key holder. Any policy can be re written, simple as that! And, receiving clerks are not over team leads. Also, saying the team leads will be over receivers? My club has no day receivers, so that would be a negative. A manager is over claims. Bottom line, there is no need for a lead! All that is needed is 1 receiver to run the dock and office.

Club manager had a conference call now, perhaps it's about receiving?

Mgmt. Was told to cross train a selected assoc in claims. The 1 full time claims assoc. Will take on the duties left in rec. And the cross trained part time assoc. will help what he/she doesn't get done . I'm not sure about the teamlead in rec. All claims should be getting a part timer to cross train .

If a MSS is spending lots of time in receiving, sounds like a lot of people are not doing their job!!!

Receiving lead will be over receivers and claims. Receiving and claims will be cross trained in each other’s areas. As the company continues to drive down unnecessary costs with automation and apps, full times jobs will decrease. As of this moment no more full time additions except for the minimum one dock associate full time and one claims full time. All others part time.

only paper work is slowing down ...actual freight flow is not at all.....actual physical work is what our lead and clerk do most of the day......i sure would like to see a receiving day in those clubs where receiving apparently does so little...............

They'll need the lead so they have a key carrier.
