Q1 results soon and layoffs depend on
1) SLB Results Vs Market expectations
2) Competition results
Layoffs will be set after these important factors and not connected to actual work required, sales (to secure more loss making work) and executive team will be excluded from layoffs.
IT cut close to 20% before May end
Service companies only teach what you need to know to do your specialised oilfield work. They are not interested in developing your knowledge.
Being worried about your job in slb is not the main issue slb employees have. The biggest problem is slb employees are not welcomed in any other industries or majority of oil operators or service sectors.
We will probably end up working Uber or Lyft or just working in restaurants, we are not learning anything is needed in job market in slb.
Face it, as long as you work for schlumberger, you will always wonder if today is your last day. Find a better job. The money’s not worth the stress.
None of these will go as far as they have connections to higher management.
I have seen my colleague back stabbed other when he was in field. Poor guy pulled from job and released, replaced by back stabber, let's not talk about client initial shock!
So if you want to stay here. Just kiss asses as many as you see, even asses with no hope or future, because any of these hopeless asses could be your next manager.
SDR git hit? Good, it was way overdue! What about useless SETC, champions and advisors with no fu*king contribution? Not to mention, managers with less than 5 in their reporting line?!

What is the point of working for someone who doesn't recognize the effort and there is always fear of unfair layoffs?
