Finally, a plan in place to offset the fresh department's increasing wages. Sell those bakery buckets for $2each. 4 buckets sold per hour more than offsets 1 person's black belt wages per hour. Maybe we can start charging food banks for those moldy strawberries and blackened bananas too. Meat scraps can't be just given away either. Cha ching!

Why I hate self check outs... I pay 100 a yr to do your work and because for every set of self checkouts a person has lost their jobs. We tell the members no one lost their job we shifted associates to the floor to better serve you. When was the last time you could find anyone on the floor working...
To the poster below me, how the heck can you hate self checkout. I haven't been to a cashier in forever thanks to self check outs. I get in and get out.
If it's a technology thing then I appreciate you going to a cashier because nothing is more inferiorating then waiting for someone to complete a transaction at self check out that can't follow prompts.
As a customer, I hate self checkout.
Does Costco still have human cashiers?
Some of those buckets will be kept and used for sh-- buckets for the only 1 tech associate when they have to work 60hrs straight activating phones during black Friday.
They already have that figured out. More jobs will be cut next year most likely cashiers . When you see more self checkouts being added remember you read it here first. Since shrink means very little to the company anymore the door greeters will be gone. Within the new couple of years more meat will come in just like Walmart already prepackaged and just need to be stocked. All vendors will go scan base which will eliminate more jobs in receiving.
