Rumor is they will be accepting volunteers. Any other groups doing that?

That is the normal procedure, yes. Immediately after the announcement, they will solicit the affected workgroup with a "willingness to leave" survey which has to be submitted in 24-48 hours. (It defaults to "no" if you don't respond). Saying yes does not guarantee you will be surplussed, and saying no does not mean that you will not. They use it as a tool to factor in determining how deeply they will need to cut.
