Has anyone looked at the vast difference in pay between people doing the same job?
I know for a fact there are men making more than I with less seniority.
Another example of how gross this company has become.

HR is looking into this. The goal is to lower everyone to the lowest salary.
Same at home office
New employees with zero experience making 20k more than employees with 15plus years. Why??
Pay rates used to be higher as the discretion was left to those in the field to determine salaries. With the standardization of HR and Payroll, new (aka lower) pay grades were established. Rates have continued to decline as new hires were brought in and savings were realized. When I was promoted years ago, I almost doubled my salary with the move. That is not an option anymore.
Yes, much less than that. The base pay is a joke, there have been no increases in years, and the bonus potential is a fraction of what B & N offers. But yeah, we're the best.
How much do Follett store managers make? As a BNCollege SM, I made low $90s back in 2008. Store was $10 million +, with a good GM:text ratio. I was able to pull a 30%-35% bonus, including escalators, on a regular basis.
I think that the lowest paid SMs were probably in the $40k+ range, and their bonus would have been less than mine was. Maybe maxing out at 25% with escalators.
That was 10 years ago. Do you generally make less than that?
while this is a serious issue, this is like Hamlet lamenting his broken heart and endlessly contemplating what to do next. Al lof us know, he doesn't finish the play alive.
You work for follett. You're not getting out alive (professionally). move on.
Excuse me to the ‘ladies only push papers’ comments. Rather insulting to women across the board, this 2018 not 1950, I have seen women in the stores & have done, still do everything in the store, from lifting boxes, moving boxes, to yes shuffling papers because I am also the CTs person. I challenge you to come out to my store & keep up with me one day during rush &/or buyback.
I can't speak to the gender gap but I can confirm that Follett pays managers significantly less than other retailers, including our primary competitors. The only salary offers this company makes is of the low-ball variety. They will gladly give positions to less qualified individuals so long as their salary requirements are the bottom bid.
I don't know what other people get paid but I can easily observe the amount of work being done, and the ladies are doing little more than paper pushing while the men do all the real work. If we had equal pay for equal work my female boss would make a about $1.25.
I have been wondering the same thing, how can we find out?
Gone are the days of the Follett Values. What wss that...ummm..we value each and every associate. ha ha ha.
not.
