SPVSS to be sold to chick-a-fil for their emerging digital signage push to all of their franchises. They needed a solution that would scale to their needs. Cisco video can almost do it. The BU promised roadmap features to accommodate. The price is less than $50M. The key asset is the BU people they get who can work the cash registers and have the technology skills to handle the online ordering systems.

Mate, Cisco wiped out entire NDS China R&D center in 2015.

If this is true, and who knows what is, Permira’s involvement is not a good sign. As I understand it; when Permira took NDS off NASDAQ, Murdoch and any senior NDS management with share options got bought out, and also got options for any future IPO. Those options were bought out by Cisco during the acquisition. Over time those senior managers were either pushed out or bailed. I suspect that some of them want back in. Maybe the prospect of another double payoff has peeked their interest. Apart from legacy customers, who cares about CA. My advice to anyone still there is get out while you still can, and don’t get fooled again.
