is it a surprise? we make the best pre-school & toddler products. it’s once a child gains the slightest bit of awareness towards technology that they age out of our crap.

I heard that FP is now the largest Mattel brand in terms of sales.

I remember the day Mattel bought us, many of us thought it would be the demise of fisher price. We weren’t wrong. Sell us, let us make good product again to regain the confidence of the consumer.

That is just simply not true, Mattel would never acquire a business without due diligence, whether that be MEGA or any other company, like a wearable tech startup or a tablet manufacturer or a handheld electronic games company or an educational software developer. This is fake new again.

MEGA has a legit grievance? I guess you don't know the facts. They did the Pump and Dump, overshipping like crazy their last year to look like a big growth spurt. Mattel bit, bought (overpaid), and soon after it was back to normal at MEGA.

Whoever was doing the diligence on that deal should be in jail.

Mattel bought Fisher Price in 1993. 25 years out of their 87 year existence. And yet you won't stop crying about needing your independence and how horrible it's been under the Mattel regime. How many of you were actually there when it wasn't Mattel? And if you were, how were those two years of independence from 91-93 (after you were owned by Quaker F'ing Oats) when you f'd everything up and needed saving?

And AG has been part of Mattel since 1998. 12 years as the Pleasant Company and 20 years with Mattel. But everything was so damn dandy until big bad Mattel took over in 1998, huh? All downhill since then.

Now Mega - Ok, they have a legit grievance.

But the rest of you - who are fortunate enough that the parent corp allowed your subsidiary to stay put rather than move opps to the West Coast - I mean, what the hell?

Stop slinging mud and realize we're all on the same team.

Better yet, do what disney did when they acquired Marvel. They took the marvel cheapskate way of operating and applied it to all of those slackers in burbank and made a leaner more profitable business model. FP & AG are in the mattel vortex because the mattel way was forced upon them like a frat boy on a drunk college girl at a party. Time to change things up and let FP show Mattel how to handle business. Enough of these left coast losers trying to run a business.

It’s more like save fisher price and American girl. Mattel is an anchor dragging them down. Go the right thing and release them from this torture

Save MAT? These valuable brands are the only thing keeping the company afloat. It sure ain't Barbie. Why would the BOD let go of the golden gooses? Pipe dream. Sorry.
