Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Severance timing

Anybody knows how long does it take from the moment you are laid off by Enbridge to receive your severance? Is it an instant kind of thing or does it take some time for the whole thing to get processed?

Just trying to get a full picture of things in case of a worst case scenario.

How it goes in reality: they give yout he paperwork as they're telling you that you're canned. Then when you try to send it back they reject it the first 4-5 times. Then they tell you a date you'll be paid, but then that date changes without explanation (probably a violation of the terms of the agreement, but not a battle worth fighting). So, expect maybe 3-4 weeks after your first attempt to return the paperwork.

Wait, I think you mean best case scenario, right? Good luck! I'm excited and hoping it's my time soon.

It is stated in the severance agreement. You’ll find the agreement on eLink for legacy Enbridge and the source for legacy spectra. I believe it’s 10 days after you sign the agreement.

With mine, I chose pay continuance over a lump sum and never missed a paycheck.

I could see lump sum taking a longer time.

It definitely takes a while. You have paperwork to sign and once you send them the paperwork back and then they "process" it, then they'll do whatever to send the severance pay. Definitely takes a few weeks.
