Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

No mention layoffs at Town Hall

I know management wants to move on as quickly as possible from the recent round of layoffs. However, how does our CEO stand in front of everyone and emphasize open, honest communications and confronting realities and never mention the layoff that just occurred? I'm sure there is some wimpy legal reason for it, but it was the elephant in the room. I'm afraid they have lost credibility with me--what little they had.

Is Sean going to start putting his signature on the SRW "about" dialog?

Is he going to have an employee contest to choose the coolest signature?

I hope Sean reads this and understands how much we hate him. Sean, if you're reading. We hate you, you're a crappy excuse for a CEO. Pound Sand.

You can always have a friend from the outside call in and ask for you.

@2suw - I'm totally good with you asking that question next time. Especially since you seem so keen to and all. There's usually someone who asks the "when's the next layoff?" question at the end of most town halls. It's a running joke at Sabre and has been for almost 20 years. Maybe you're new here and didn't know that. There's never an honest answer provided so it's never worth asking. Oh, and I know at least 2 people who asked the question who have been laid off. So have fun with that.

Well, I think the question should be asked by someone. You could say something like, 'With our recent layoffs, will there be more layoffs?" It's a straight forward question that many should ask. You could also ask, "Since we had many layoffs last year, and the 900 layoffs in August/September of 2017, "When will we reach a point where the company does not have to layoff?". Don't be afraid to ask questions that everyone should be asking. It is about getting information on the company that you work for, and is always a valid question. The executives should never go around like it's business as usual, because it is never business as usual, when a layoff occurs, and a town hall meeting occurs right after. Don't be intimidated to ask questions about your future. Executives are being ridiculous to not go ahead and address the obvious!

Why does need to be mentioned that something is already part of 'career path'?

i dont even listen to the Town Halls anymore. I dont trust anyone at the leadership level anymore. Tom had his issues, but at least he tried a bit harder. these guys are just in it for the “cash and dash” - sad really

Exactly... we all know what that means and they have said it many times before. Why didn’t you ask in the Q&A section?

CEO mentioned difficult decisions have and will still have to be made in a sentence with cost cutting. We all know what that means.
