Thread regarding Follett layoffs

ex- employee let go by regional and store manager who was doing the the dirty work for top mgt.

Store managers- you don't even deserve a 2 % raise forget about 4%- grow up- polish off your resumes and get out of this company- as long as your working for this company, you will be walking on the bones of already laid off workers who were given 10 minutes to leave by you know who - stay- you will eventually be replaced too- your nothing special to the top management in headquarters - you can be replaced by a bigger fools out there- remember that!!!

Another reason to leave now. SM have to execute such a broad range of duties. Your skill set is good. Get out! What do you do if it becomes clear you need to "manage out" one of your top employees because the make too much? You will be put in that situation. What's going to happen when you you're the senior employee? THe writing is on the wall. Broaden your network. exploit your talents. Get out!

Sorry for your circumstances. As a former manager who did stick up for employees during the layoff era and paid the price I would not recommend anyone does such a thing. It’s career suicide for a SM or RM. They have no more control of let that than you do and are likewise expendable.
