Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

This needed to be said

It’s a realization that Noble is a subpar company. Most of the people who leave will do much better elsewhere. I don’t know anyone who would work for Noble. They have no chance of recruiting and keeping experienced quality people. You can’t act like a-holes in a downturn and expect all to be good when things improve. People remember that Noble was the worst of the worst during the downtown. No one wants to work there. I left Noble...now pay my is 25% better, bonuses are better, matching is better, vacation is better, morale is better. Everything is better.

Not my post, OP is @SPAKY1t-1mjo, but this needed to be said.

Yeah, you’re right, it’s not indentured servitude, but it’s close. People can leave if they wish, many have and many more will. That’s what happens at companies that don’t look after their people. It’s also true that no job is perfect, at Noble that line is an excuse to justify c-appy treatment of their employees.

You must be part of the chosen few. I get paid 40% more than I did at Noble.

The thing is management doesn’t care if working here s#cks. They’ve made this company in their own image and just as long as they keep getting their bonuses and stock grants they’re happy.

In Denver Noble is at the bottom of the list. Nobody wants to work for Noble... including their own people. They are a joke in Denver. My wife works in HR for another large indeoendent in Denver. Whenever they advertise openings they get a ton of rersumes from current Noble employees.

It is true that no company is perfect... but most are way superior to Noble.

Like it hasn't already been said a thousand times on this site. No company is the perfect fantasyland that this person claims they are living in. Most people I know at Noble are happy to have their job and if they aren't I hear there are plenty of jobs out there so they can leave whenever they want to.
