Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Central Florida Layoffs comming

CL just got rid of all the contractors in the Winter Park and Winter Garden Districts. That’s usually followed by headcount reduction shortly afterwards. There won’t be enough people ready to retire, so young guys that are just starting their careers will be the ones to go.

CTL just took out DSM OMG employees 18 to 40+ years, definitely going after the more senior people to cut cost of healthcare and retirement. Anyone see a “class action case” in the next few days?

Welcome to CL a subsidiary of Enron where the upper management team's business model is a plan without customers. For the good of the Company and it's employees Glen Post should have been moved to the Philippines instead of Dispatch.

Nothing matter anymore around this place. The new CEO don’t give a damn about any of us. It’s been a good place to be for a lot of years but now it is just a job. Nobody is going to retire anymore. Wish everybody the best. You young kids here should looks at other places. If you are young enough join the military or go to college. If you are over 50 with less than 25 years start praying. If you are stupid then keep believing you have a secure job. You don’t.

Yes layoffs are going to coming this way in the field. We in the field are more in the dark than we ever have been. They can't put something as simple as what is going on with service orders. I mean wht does a customer cancel the PRISM and then the internet goes out. So the reps make a new tech install order and sell them 25 meg. The sales rep just got a great sale, because they purposely put the customer out of service and remove internet completely. Instead of seeing the intentional removal of internet and putting it back on. Just give them a new hsi and get credit and paid for the sale. Because looks like a new install. Shady and bad customer service. I mean we don't know if a customer modem is leased or purchased. A simple field on an order or trouble with the date they got it. And if it's purchased or leased. It's easy, but no one at Centurylink cares. They want to slim down the aging lines, cut costs and sell it off. I mean there is not upgrades in residential neighborhoods and we have not future plans to compete in the copper market. They don't want to compete. They just want us to have the customers that cable can't reach and keep them. We are set up to fail, not setting up for the future. But I love how on the company website it states we have upgraded our network. How by removing PRISM and giving faster speeds? Sad company I'm not close to retiring but most likely take a package to get out and go to a company that values customers and employees.

Mid level management is screwing us all. Degraw and Scheifer need to go. Those two can’t manage a group of rocks. For the lazy boys who wouldn’t fight at contract time you better be ready to fight now. Sign a card and get ready for war if you aren’t a member.

Don't worry young guy, it's us old seasoned guys 55+ who have been here forever, know all the equipment, can fix everything and have been keeping the place running and making money for years that will go. Nobody under 55 has left where I am and everyone that was let go the past three times was all 55+ years old. Don't worry, your safe.

Then, when us old guys are gone, you will be able to play with your phone all day without us complaining. But there will be nobody left to fix stuff for you or bail you out.
