Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Layoff question

If you were laid off in February but your termination date is April, does it mean you claim employment until April?

OP, were you asking about unemployment benefits or about avoiding a gap on your resume?

Technically, you're still a paid employee of the company receiving biweekly salary payments and often subject to noncompete clauses so yes you can claim you're still employed. Not sure it's worth it tho..

In CA you'd become eligible in April. You cannot get anything before you are actually separated.

You can apply for unemployment for the Furlough weeks. Miss out for first week but eligible if 4th quarter furloughs continue.

Depends on the state. But in general you should file as soon as you are laid off as benefits won't start for several weeks anyway. The sate will determine your eligibility for you.
