If there are layoffs at the end of Q4, when would one likely find out? Two weeks out? Thursday before? Any rumors on cloud sales engineers/solutions consultants in apps?

You will not officially find out until you are actually told. You may need to clean out your desk immediately and leave that morning. Others are given 30 days to find a job within Oracle, but it is extremely unlikely that you will find another job in Oracle as there is no open headcount in most groups for experienced people.
A few bad signs: 1) You notice that other people (e.g. telesales / Oracle Digital) are now participating your meetings; 2) You are not being included in internal meetings; 3) Credible rumors show up on this board. (e.g. not "Everybody's getting laid off!", but specific posts about positions and locations that could only come from someone inside of Oracle).
When you get laid off you should expect to be out of a job.
Lol those responses were pretty much worthless. This site has devolved from a somewhat insightful source to a griping spit for trolls and sour grapes alike. Guess I’ll know when I know. Cheers!
Come on, Oracle is not the end of life, the life outside of Oracle must be better and greener than Oracle. Relax, enjoy and have some fun.
Unless you have a manager who gives you a confidential heads up, you’ll likely find out the day you get a delivery alert from
FedEx for a package from Oracle. That is usually the day before you hear it via mass conference call or whatever method your part of Oracle chooses to use when they cut you loose. Sign up for the delivery alerts if you haven’t already. And start refreshing your LinkedIn, reaching out to contacts, etc. Good luck to all.
Your life is going to get so much better, you can’t even begin to imagine it. It’s like bein g released from hell! Consider yourself very fortunate if they cut you lose.
