All corporate call centers will be a thing of the past. Corporate Verizon will be as hard to get ahold of as corporate Google or corporate Amazon (and they'll charge you just to call us). "Layoffs" will be a thing of the past once centers close. No bad publicity. Divide and conquer. HBA reps will be PIP'd and picked off one by one. Tech Coach is the future. Cheaper, easier to hire. Very easy to see Verizon's long term strategy. Good time to buy; their bottom line is about to increase meteorically. There's more to life than work. This is a good thing, because our work is almost done.

Why not just make this crap mandatory, our Target is already 75% and going up, only way to hit that is to slam people. Work the cost into phone pricing or service pricing, customers already b--ch about costs being to high, but let's add another 13.00 per month for your first 3 lines, for a product you'll most likely never need. It's another money grab for Verizon. The well is going to dry up pretty soon.
Tech coach reps are as useless as the kids who work for afni and alorica. Why is it so hard to hire people with some sense.
asurion still has AT&T
Just to bring all up to speed...there's a reason for the amped-up Tech Coach offering.
Asurion (my former employer) lost their largest account (Walmart) about 6 months ago. They just did massive layoffs themselves. We always used to say that if Asurion lost Walmart and Verizon, it was the end of the road for Asurion. Enter Verizon's renewed interest. Asurion probably offered a super sweet deal to VZ as they had to put all of their call center folks to work or pay out huge severance packages.
VZ's long-term strategy is to reduce its legacy store (larger) number, off-loading those to indirect partners and relying on .com and ISPU (in-store pick up).
Not a great time to be in VZ retail.
I'm at Comcast now. VZ's other plan is to lease the hell out of its network...hence the Xfinity Mobile deal...hence the upcoming Charter MVNO deal, etc. Placing store quotas out of reach will thin out the ranks through PIPs and overall attrition. Sad, but I'm glad I bounced.
TMP required? Another slime ball move on VZW part.
I always loved the pitch for tmp “Ya it has a monthly charge and deductible just like your car insurance).
Cars are 10s of thousands of dollars
A phone is several hundred bucks
TMP is a waste of money
An equipment protection or "insurance" feature that allows customer to bypass corporate tech support or customer care in favor of working with an outside contractor. Sorry to post this on the wireline board; it's just much more active here.
I'm wireline, what's TMP and what is Tech Coach?
I almost forgot - TMP soon to be required on all new equipment purchases to get everyone under the Tech Coach umbrella.
Hope you're right. I'd love to see the stock price finally move.
