Just hired a bunch of New landline employees and cut off most overtime since last September. Then wonder why the work is not getting done??? Lol.... A experienced tech can get 3 times the work done of a new tech and done correctly. I'm all for hiring but don't cut the overtime when there is work to be done.

You have been exposed as a disco hero.
Skulk away in shame.
To you and all the EWA Heros all I can say is: May 4th. Good Luck.
LOL, to clarify 3 replacements did the work of 4 UW and then some. When the SR MGR sends you lists of work to do unlike the UW we would not ignore him and just sit around. Usually we would have all active tickets done in 2 hours. (and yes we left over 50 CT's in place, we even added a few as some of the old ones were crap) so instead of sitting around doing nothing we would do the work that was sent to us.
Construction going to shift work to cut trucks and Overtime... 7day schedule
I thought a 5g powered Kin was the new strategy? Or was it a 5g Blackberry Storm? When you have as many wins as Verizon it is hard to remember.
@2LGI
Is EXACTLY the type of clownshow that ended the strike so soon. Disconnects during a strike? I wouldn't have admitted to that, actually...
No more double time period
Hearing the OT is cut due to 2 main things 1. Zero based budgeting 2. So union tech's won't be able to save money for strike. This use to be a great company to work for but it keeps getting worse....Still a good job though
You don’t have to disconnect the jumpers on the frame, they can turn off the dial tone and leave the jumper in place! It’s called a CT (cut through). This way, when a subscriber wants new phone service, they can activate it without having to run new jumpers. If they had you pulling jumpers at the CO, it’s because they had nothing else for you to do and we’re just trying to find busy work for you. What a waste of time!
LOL disconnects and proud of it. The reason they are never up to date is meaningful work always takes priority you rube. I guess they gave the "important" work to a true hero, someone with extraordinary abilities. LOL
@2lji. Well sure an ace technician like you? No wonder they had you doing disconnects on the frame. That's pretty important work during a strike!! Obviously you were a key man. Well done sir you saved the day again.
Took me 3 days in COT to figure out to do the work, Took me 2 weeks to catch up the active backlog. Spent the rest of the time working on the 8 months of disconnects that union crew did not work on. We got that down to 2 months in the last 4 weeks. And the only fiber that had an issue was the fiber that was cut by the union crew 2 weeks into the strike.
The scabs were clueless, obviously. Remember when you first started? It takes about 2 years to REALLY learn the craft, so yeah, lowell found out the hard way you can't replace us with the scabs that attempted to do our jobs which pay well yet really kinda blow physically...
Yeah and we are still fixing fiber troubles from the strike! Why do you think we got a contract instead of being locked out????
Yep if you dont have to tool, job does not get done ,oh well another day passes by
Experienced techs know how to slow things down to make work and overtime. When we did strike duty, we cleared more trouble tickets than the striking I&M boys did per day.
Entitled much? Be happy you’re getting 40 hours the company is contractually obligated to pay you for. Any extra is a bonus. Then again, you’ll be back here in a month complaining that Verizon is forcing you in on OT and you have no personal life. Complain just to complain.
тролль?
Russian Troll
Yep just do the best we can with no OT and no tools
Didn't verizon just get back 17 billion from the trump tax reform, what did they do with that money,in line dept cant even get a rotary sds drill ,or proper drill bits ,syepping biyd etc..for putting anchors in concrete walls ,cannot get chainsaw blades, this place is a joke ,so we do what we can do with what we got and if it takes 2 ,3,4..extra days so be it.do they ecpect us to buy our own tools...
I don't work Overtime anyway.... 8 and Skate!
5G build will Amp up soon and that should open the Overtime. The corning deal too will add more work
Yeah they are cutting costs in every department. Lower margins on wireless to compete
...and yet those contractors while you cry babies were on strike did three times the work as the high paid, union crybabies... muahahahahaha salty salty tears wash down your face.
All of you! “Verizon s---s” then go find a new job. “They cut my overtime I can’t eat a hoagie in my truck anymore while installing fiber to a house that all ready has fiber.”
The tech that installed my place spent an hour in the basement setting up my box, then sat in his truck for two hours, came in and hands me a remote. I offered him a beer and like any good employee, he chugged it and drove off. He even left his electric reading machine and tools at my place. When I called up and told him he hissed and told me to toss them, he’d said they were stolen so he wouldn’t get in trouble. I’m sure replacements didn’t cost Verizon anymore.
You’re all scum.
