Businesses Struggle to Protect Sensitive Cloud Data According to New Oracle and KPMG Cloud Threat Report

Oracle is now doing it's own security surveys.

"As many organizations migrate to cloud services, it is critical that their business and security objectives align, and that they establish rigorous controls of their own, versus solely relying on the cyber security measures provided by the cloud vendor."

That's it, put the customer in charge of security. Just a matter of shifting the blame where it belongs!

Pay no attention to the cloud behind the curtain.

All I know is our cloud is riddled with security vulnerabilities in our OWN products. We just don't bother to patch our own software. And the lack of security best practices, don't get me started! I really worry because as we dogfood this garbage, our own personal data is now also at risk! NOT COOL!

The posters on this topic remind me of Mark Twain's famous quote - “It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”

You obviously have a limited appreciation for cloud security concepts. Maybe you can attend a cloud security training course or even RTFM.

It looks like Oracle is working both sides of the security fence.

Buy Zenedge to improve security.....

but then cover your a-- by saying that security is really the customer's responsibility.

Security is a shared responsibility for both the customer and the cloud vendor, no matter the vendor. Mark a storage bucket “public”, which can be done with one click or command, and the blast radius of your breach is the entire internet. Your cloud vendor had better have a way at least to tell you that you’ve got a problem.

Hmmm, what would I rather have a hole in my head or an oracle security audit? I might just take the hole.

Yes, Oracle appears to be putting out fake news. For once I agree with the FAKE NEWS guy.
