When Oracle acquired Sun, SM said something like, “I’m a pretty good capitalist, but LE is a GREAT capitalist.”
LOL...times have changed. Now it’s more like LE is a pretty good capitalist, but JB is f---ing great capitalist!
I think LE knows it. But what can you do other than trying to cheer the business? Oracle going down is imminent. It is obvious that there isn't any more room in the Cloud for Oracle. Instead of going against the forces, perhaps he needs to change his attitude to make more friends and partnership with everyone such as VMware/Dell, Salesforce, AWS, Azure and etc. there might still be chance to survive. Brain drain at Oracle is bad. People will think twice before they taking Oracle's offers. While people will bang at the doors to get into Amazon, Apple and etc. You see the different ?
Good catch @SFOPONi-ifc
Larry is an old guy. Which is kinda funny when you realize how much oracle values youthful workforce, and jettisoning as many older workers as possible. Larry hangs around with other old guys. I will be impressed when he joins some of his youthful new hires at the climbing gym. Pack it in, Larry! What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Let a younger bunch occupy the executive suite while you, Sc and MH move into the retirement home. Maybe then oracle will have some real ideas and energy again.
There is no mention of $100b for Oracle in the article.
Database-platform-as-a-service is forecast to reach nearly $10bn by 2021, the most rapidly growing area of PaaS, where Oracle and Microsoft are vying for customer share and where AWS is coming on stronger.
Nice try.
Has LE seen a competitor quite like Bezos? He's also kicking MSFT's butt too.
Laugh if you will but Larry is known for defying the odds.
The supply of utter morons never end!
LOL
If $100b is 100 bitcoins, uh sure.
