Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Do we know anything about this week?

Do we expect any announcements? Any decisions to be made? Has there been any indication that something is going to happen?

I'm no longer certain which I prefer: hearing that I have to fight for my position or that I've been laid off or remaining in this godawful circle of uncertainty.

Upper management is clearly seeing a big impact. No question about that. ALL supervisor and manager positions are hit regardless of role or department.

I heard that UW was told that upper Mgmt is being reduced! Just the start for that dept as well!

There are some Bank Business Analysts in Dallas.

So broad statement was pretty accurate. Now everyone knows the same thing.

There is no true Bank function in Dallas, only ET people doing work for Bank.

What bank functions are in Dallas? I know ATL has a small credit card and mortgage operation. I thought bank in Dallas was mostly technical support roles.

They are actually just going to ban us from banking with non compete clauses on the way out

"If you got an email for 11 meeting, does Not mean you are cut, but people at your level IN YOUR LOCATION are getting cut."

Well this is a pretty broad statement that doesn't seem to mean a whole lot. The meeting at 11 has 800+ required attendees from every location except ATL. (Their meeting is earlier.)

I didn’t know the bank had a presence in Dallas

Revision from prior comment...

If you got an email for 11 meeting, does Not mean you are cut, but people at your level IN YOUR LOCATION are getting cut.

Atl is gone. Dallas is gone (bank). STL is not closing. QTD date is for 8/31. If you got an email for 11 meeting, does Not mean you are cut, but people at your level are getting cut. A lot of info tomorrow.

Every area handles it differently. Some tell their employees where they stand the day of the meeting. Others, like the professional /tech jobs in Enterprise Technology tell their employees they'll know in 2-3 months. But I agree, I've yet to see much actual fact coming from this site. Start working on PlanB if you don't have one.

Fire field here and if y’alls meetings goes anything like ours did last month then I’m sorry. There was 21 of us and they told us there were only jobs for 11 of us. Furthermore of those 11 openings only 4 would allow you not to move the rest would require relocation 20 miles up the road. Claims have been made extremely complicated and what use to take an hour to handle now takes 3. I personally opted out and took the severance. I feel for the folks that stay because the pending claim volume that gets carried over from the ones that left is going to be a nightmare. A division manager lead the call and read off a script and tried to sound like they care but this company died a couple years ago, we are just witnessing convulsions

The person who posted the "details" is wrong. Stop coming here, all the supposed info is made up. I don't know if people think it's funny or they are just grossly misinformed by whomever they're talking to, but like the other person said...let's try to relax. This is not where you're going to get anything reliable

Hey guys! For real, tomorrow the meeting will give us more information. No one on here has even pretended to give facts, so we are all only speculating. Let’s all try to get some rest tonight, as unnerving as this day has been. Maybe take a melatonin and try to turn off the theories and assumptions. Fact is we know things will look different after tomorrow. I know it’s been tough!

We can’t change the news tomorrow, though, and maybe it’s not going to be as bad as all of these speculations have said. Who knows? Tomorrow, we will know more. I love my coworkers and I’m sorry for all this stress we’ve faced. Let’s all try not to worry ourselves sick. Tomorrow we will all know together.

If you don’t know if you’re safe then how can you confirm everything speculated in the thread is false?

Notice how I'm not arguing with you. I don't care if you believe me or not, I just thought I might convince some people to take a few deep breaths and just accept that we will all know tomorrow. I don't know if I'm safe either, but worrying about it changes nothing

I come to this board out of curiosity. I started coming because of the rumours about Tip, and like many I believed them. They were utterly false. Honestly, the vast majority of what people say on here is completely wrong. I commented because my personal belief is that no one needs to worry about something they have 0 control over. Things at the Bank are changing, no question. But we arent closing our doors and nobody is going die. You only hurt yourself worrying and checking this b---s--- factory of a board, as it has no real facts. Try to rest easy tonight if you can, because tomorrow you will find out. No one on here is going to tell you tonight

The person who told everyone to relax either knows nothing (is some little Supervisor), or just a troll. If they’re in the know why come to this board at all?

"I can confirm that everything speculated so far on this thread is wrong. I am not some troll who's just saying that but I'm also not going to say anything but this: you will know tomorrow. There is no point worrying about it tonight, because it's not going to change anything"

How can you say this when we don't know if we have jobs or not tomorrow? If you can back your statement please do so. Maybe you already know you are 'safe' but we do not. So we will worry until we know otherwise. If you know something, ease our minds please.

“If that was the case thought they could have skips the whole study . Less we forget the bank made money last year .”

The review was initially referred to as the ‘feasibility study’ as in, are bank operations feasable to maintain into the future. It wasn’t until recently it started being called the ‘Structure Study’.

I got sf life insurance so sf is going to make sure my family is taken care of one way or another after this. Thankfully I took out policies over 2 years ago.

There is a very broad range of roles and responsibilities among those on the 11am invite. While they all (most) have analyst titles, their roles are very different based on the limited knowledge of the people I’m familiar with.

If they are dismantling that many roles I think there are major changes in store for the bank. I don’t see how they could gut operations on that level and maintain business. I think bank is dead at this point.
