Just Google "SPVSS" and "pastebin" and you'll see anything you're looking for.

In lwr, speculation is rife that clients might be having bad time. Enterprise gets the best of lot and CA the favorite lot. Worst are those who cisco endears?

finalization on how to negotiate writing down of $?Mn in liabilities. CC and PE allocated chunks. Cisco keeps own bit of apps and all new mw to ltts. Who to own liability of evo keeping the dates delaying. When you can't convince ur customers confuse them announcing end of life for evo and scrap?

All HE, enterprise + drm? - CC

CA drm - PE/CC

IVP apps - cisco/ tivo?

All mw, client - outsource ltts, mbt

Evo client - end of life + ltts/PE ?

Common infra to different 3rd party outsource- ?

?

Last two delaying the announcement?

Don't trust rumors. Its being ripped off and torn

@S7QGFRi-6rfm - the salary post, I never knew incompetence would cost so much or be so richly rewarded.

What's holding up the sale,? Need to finalize how to negotiate write down -$540m in liabilities (contacts, workforce, obligations, etc) against a term sheet which is fluid. It's not a done deal. We are dealing with bottom feeders.

What’s holding up the sale?

Surely it’s easy to decide, they’ll just go for the highest bidder won’t they?

It’s true, NDS and SA were once upon a time successful independent companies. It’s true that both companies are relics of another bygone video golden age. It’s also true most of the staff are prisoners waiting for an LR or some other exit. There’s been zero accountability within management or mediocre performance from staff members. Bottom line, the sooner the bandaid gets ripped off the better for all concerned.

Years back Cisco acquired 2 service provider video companies - Scientific-Atlanta and later NDS. Both were industry leaders in their own right, billions in combined revenue, though some products had their issues. That was years ago. Fast forward to 2018, and Cisco has systematically gutted both organizations, offering no industry insight nor industry leadership. Poor management decisions, major blunders, product missteps and constant LRs have decimated morale among those who remain. Product innovation and has been ceded to others in the industry and it shows in dismal sales numbers. And at the same time there are those within Cisco who insist on blaming those who are left in SP video, as if the poor management decisions at the board level within Cisco were somehow the fault of the front-line employees in SP video.

Can't wait for NAB- already dreading it.. I'll be in a booth that consists of three fold up tables, some services guy showing off some science project on "video analytics" on a computer screen, other computers with fake UI, banners that say things like "containers, microservices, and cloud!, DevOps, CI/CD" "Video your way, anyway and on any screen!" "Intelligent and self healing."

How humiliating.

All I've seen out of Israel is vaporware and backstabbing organizational politics. Congratulations on re-writing your monolithic vaporware as microservices vaporware though.

Snowflake was a nice demo. It was a terrible product. The ergonomics were sh--. All the customers hated -using it-. Read that again.

They loved looking at it but they hated using it.

I’m not from Lawrenceville.

Snowflake was the best innovation out of video until the drab Neanderthals in LWR did everything they could to undermine at our customers expense. Only innovation was Israel, UK and Irvine CA.

Absolutely great innovation happens in Israel, let me see there’s VG DRM that does upside down video in Canada- first of a kind right there and then there’s OVP which is so great. Hoping for the NDS glory days to come back...

Delusional. No innovation anywhere in video since Cisco acquired NDS. Just warmed up left overs served with cloud.

You people are bitter. The only innovation that occurs in spvss is in Israel!

@S7QGFRi-5iol

Yeah, thought that too! I'm OK with it though. Ready to apply my skills for someone who appreciates real software developers and their motivations to do things the right way. Only stayed because of the number of RSUs Cisco owes me is far greater than any signing bonus I would get. But it is time. Ready for whatever is next. Ready to be done with Israel. Good luck to all!

Having ripped out the beating heart of Video (Lawrenceville, Georgia), which parts of VSS North America are expected to survive?

What is the point of anything?
