Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

More layoffs?

Anybody else wondering when we can expect more layoff announcements from ConocoPhillips?

It's been a bit too quiet lately...

I'm not aware of any companies in any industry that don't have layoffs at least once every few years. Well, maybe the government is the exception to that rule.

It is the way companies keep the dead-wood from taking over. And it is that same dead wood that floats around every few years looking for a new home.

Imagine, paying just 1 salary, and having more to show for it! Make that man an offer, fast!

Yep. Tillerson is free. He could replace ALL the ELT, if you want my opinion.

Word has it Rex Tillerson is free and might be a good replacement for some of our ELT. Look for some exciting new shakeups like last time. More agile, smaller independent. That’s us!

Some positions will be eliminated when L48 BU is realigned and we move into EC4. Still indecision on Bartlesville to move it all now or a little at a time.

COP has layoffs every 3 years, on average. I suspect there may be another light round, and then you’re safe for about 3 years.
